A young Afghan boy finds himself surrounded by U.S., Coalition and Afghan military troops passing through his village, Feb. 5, 2010, Southern Afghanistan. Canadian Forces 3rd KANDAK 1/205 Corps and the U.S. Army Charlie Company 2508 Task Force Furry worked together mentoring the 3-1/205 Afghan National Army for a successful execution of Operation Mesmar. The mission objective was to clear several villages and fruit orchards in the southern most half of Terot Kulacha in search of IED’s, weapons caches and illegal drugs.

Allied Joint Forces Command HQ Brunssum is a NATO headquarters in Brunssum, the Netherlands. It is directly subordinate to SHAPE, the Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe, and provides oversight to the International Security Assistance Force, in Afghanistan.
