Boots on the Ground

An Afghan National Army Soldier with the 205th Corps takes a look behind himself before falling into formation, in preparation for General Qsime, Afghan National Army 205th Corps vice commander’s visit, March 4, 2010, Southern Afghanistan. General Qsime and U.S. Army Lt. Col. Matthew Bedwell, 205th Coalition Mentor Team deputy commander stopped at four different Forward Operating Bases and visited over 400 205th Corps ANA soldiers to discuss upcoming combat operations and quality of life issues at each location.

Canadian Forces 3rd KANDAK 1/205 Corps and the U.S. Army Charlie Company 2508 Task Force Fury worked together mentoring the 3-1/205 Afghan National Army for a successful execution of Operation Mesmar. The mission objective was to clear several villages and fruit orchards in the southern most half of Terot Kulacha in search of IED’s, weapons caches and illegal drugs.
