An Afghan Border Policeman (ABP), whose hands are painted in the style of Henna, stands at parade rest in formation during training with U.S. Soldiers on Combat Outpost Herrera, Paktiya province, Afghanistan, Oct. 3, 2009. These ABP are students in a partnership training program called the Combined Action Academy (CAA). The CAA is a four week program that uses a platoon of Soldiers from Apache Troop, 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment to teach the ABP basic Soldier skills including discipline, team work, patrolling and culminates with a live fire exercise.
